One thing I love about offering newborn photography in Edmonton are the amazing families I get to meet!
Malaya's parents first met with me during their consult for their custom maternity and newborn portraits. They were expecting a baby girl and they had so many lovely ideas for their sessions. Malaya's parents wanted to incorporate several symbols and items into their session. And, I was so excited because I am a very sentimental person and couldn't wait to make this session extra special for this family as they begin this new chapter in their lives.
Malaya's mom loves dragonflies! In fact, she had been gifted two dragonflies, one from her husband and one from her best friend. They just happened to be the exact same one too! We were able to use both of these special gifts in these portraits and I'm so happy with how they've turned out.
Another special gift that we incorporated into the session was a set of pearls that came all the way from U.A.E. We paired these with a beautiful lace romper for Malaya's portraits and they complimented each other well.
Malaya is such a beautiful baby girl and I am so grateful that her parents asked me to photograph her for her newborn portraits. When we met that first day and they told me that they were planning to name her Malaya, at first I thought that was a very unique and pretty name. But, when I learned that her name means "wished for", my heart swelled. Malaya is most certainly wished for and her parents couldn't be more proud.
