Max and Anna were engaged in the Fall and also happened to find themselves expecting their first child, a daughter, in the Fall as well. It was important to them both that we capture some beautiful fall images for their family during their maternity portrait session.
When Anna brought this beautiful bright turquoise dress, I got excited! We had expected their upcoming newborn portrait session to be turquoise and white colour palette and I knew these images would tie into those as well. Anna also brought some other items to the session that made for fun and unique memories captured for their family! Anna plays the ukulele so we incorporated that in a fun way, as well as this flower below.
These images show the bond between these two expecting parents and their connection. They are so full of love, anticipation, excitement, and strength as they await their daughter's arrival and the new beginnings for their family. I am honoured every time I am invited to capture these special moments for a family and I love being able to convey these emotions through photographs.
Anna has been practicing yoga for about two years and we decided to incorporate some yoga poses into their maternity session. I will admit, I was a bit nervous having a full-term mamma doing a headstand in my studio! But, she was very confident and skilled! Her strength blew me away! Of course, Dad was there as a spotter too! As you may know, safety is my primary concern when in any portrait session.
What do these images say to you? I feel like Anna looks so strong, confident, and determined here. I admire her so much. And, I'm so glad that she asked to have these poses done.
