This year, I gathered up the courage to enter the Shoot and Share image contest. This contest is intense! This is an annual contest which tens of thousands of photographers from around the world enter their best work. Each photographer is able to enter up to 50 images in the contest. In 2018, there were 412,379 images entered into this contest.
Each image is entered into a specific category related to the image. Some categories include: styled wedding, wedding party, passion portraits, creative work, birth & newborn, babies & toddlers, seniors, etc.
I submitted 50 images into this contest - in as many categories as possible. My goal was to learn and grow from this experience - which I certainly did. I also was looking forward to receiving the voting data back for each image so I could get a good picture of how other photographers (mostly) view my work.
It is mostly photographers that are voting in the contest. Each image is presented a certain number of times (I believe 38) in each round. The viewer votes for the image they believe is best. The best images move onto the next round. There are twelve rounds in total that determine the winners.
I am proud to share the following graphic that describes how my images fared in this year's Shoot and Share contest!
Below are each of my images that "made it" this year. Thank you to all of my friends, family, and clients for believing in me and supporting me. I wouldn't be able to do any of this without you!
